Gig Review – Guns n’ Roses, O2 Arena, 31 May 2012

Last time at The O2, the PR promised us coveted pit access for GnR and couldn’t deliver on it, so I was unprepared for a mixing desk shoot. This time at least I had a 400mm lens but even then they really are too far away to get decent shots.

It may not be the GnR as I knew and loved it as a kid, but whatever you call this band, they are tight and can play, even if Axl these days seems to be caricature of his former self.

Gig Review – Scissor Sisters, Shepherds Bush Empire, 16 May 2012

Shooting the Scissor Sisters is fun at any time but in a tiny venue like Shepherds Bush it was great. The stage is low and they are almost too close at times, and the lighting was great.

Considering the last time I shot them was at the O2, this was a very different show and it was much easier to get the all important shots of them together. They really hammed it up for the many photographers tonight!
